The Difference Between Fluent Speakers and Fluent Readers
Yesterday afternoon was my lecture about the 2C2IA Reading Instruction Framework. It was the 2nd time I faced and spoke in front of the Oroquieta City Teachers. It's not really easy to speak on stage with those intelligent audience. However, I am very thankful that I did it successfully.
I have explained and presented to them the New Approach in teaching and the Big Picture of a Beginning Reading Instruction. Though I am not one of the Regional Trained Mentors at CDO in the sense that I am only one of the Division Mentors who are newly adopted by NEPP family, I am proud to say that I have done my part well.
I learned many things too through studying the topics that was assigned to me. I learned that 2C2IA Reading Instruction Framework has 7 segments. It is a complete and effective approach in teaching because all the needed skills to be developed to the pupils are parts of it.
I learned also that fluent readers are those who read with accuracy, speed and prosody. While fluent speakers are those who can speak without hesitation even though there are grammatical errors.
I am really blessed to have chosen as one of the facilitators because I have not only shared what I learned, I got many things which I don't know before. Though, my talk is not really a perfect one. But I know it is my stepping stone to success.
