Preparing for School Year 2010-2011

Seventy Days of our Summer Vacation is about to end. School year 2010 - 2011 is about to start. We only have 21 days more to spend and enjoy for our summer activities. Forty-nine days had already been spent however, I didn't feel I really am enjoying the vacation. It may be because of the many activities related to my career as a teacher which I was done and attended.
After the checking of the DepeD forms last april, I was very excited to submit it so I can enjoy my summer vacation. But sad to say that, the region set a Reading Program which was called Summer Reading Camp which was done for 45 hours. It was tiring but enjoyable.
However, before the Culmination Program of the Summer Reading Camp was done, there was a call from the DepEd that we have to conduct a training to the untrained teachers about the National English Proficiency Program. Though we were hesitant and resistant at that time, we had nothing to do because it was a call from the Office of the President to conduct a funded training.
The seminar ended three days before the election. I thought I can rest for three days before serving as BEI chairman in our precinct but I had to review the GI and the PCOS operation. We served for five days in all before, during and after the election. It was an astonishing work but we were still happy for our successful conduct.
Last week, I started planning already for the 2010-2011 school year. I was preparing for my lesson packs in English Grade III. I printed worksheets, activities and games for my lesson activities. I downloaded children's songs and poems. And encoded some nice children stories. Pdf search engine is very helpful to me. I have packed all those in an envelopes to assure a quality education for my incoming Grade III pupils.
Brigada Eskwela started last Monday wherein teachers, parents and some pupils came in the school to help prepare the school so that at the start of the class, there will be no cleaning to be done already. We were very happy to see again our co-teachers and had talked much about our different experiences and activities during the summer vacation.
We are very excited to start the next school year with our new set of pupils. And our school and classrooms are already ready.
